Class of 2014:
I missed sending this before September ended!  So – unless you go on to GustieJobs and update your profile you will stop getting these messages.
My advice: do NOT try to get into grad/professional school, service programs, careers without help!  There is lots of help available from many people and resources – use them!
One place to get that help is: Gustavus Networking Event, Wednesday, October 23, Westin Edina Galleria, 3201 Galleria, Edina, MN; Beverages and networking 5:30-6:30 p.m.; Dessert and program: 6:30-7:30 p.m.; Dress: Business formal; Cost for students: $10 (includes bus transportation from 3 Flags at 4:15); résumés and/or business cards are encouraged.   Alums who work in business, finance, marketing/communications, public service/law, biology and technology will be there to help you!  Featured speaker is Scott Anderson ’89, President and CEO of Patterson Dental Company. More information:https://gustavus.edu/alumni/events/networking.php
Today: Boom Lab résumés due on GustieJobs for Oct. 9 campus interviews
Oct. 7: Cigna information sessions (with free lunch) in Board Room at 11:30 and 12:30
Oct. 8: Cigna interviews on campus
Oct. 16: Huron Consulting information session 12:00 in Linear Lounge; they do business consulting in health care, come learn about this great opportunity
Epic: seeking online applications at www.careers.epic.com now for those graduating between now and June 2014; they grew from 4,000 to 8,000 employees in three years and are still growing!  The application takes about 15 minutes – alums there say “Students are really busy, but take 15 minutes and apply!”
Advice from Target recruiters: when answering interview questions, it is better to use examples from classes, groups, clubs, teams, work than personal situations with families and friends.

MN Private Colleges Job and Internship Fair website is up at www.mnpcfair.org.  Info sessions for that event will be held in November….watch for the many times the 30 minutes sessions are available.

I am excited about spending my 25th year at Gustavus with the Class of 2014!
