Fair Goers:
- Please know that it is not my intention to create anxiety with all these messages about fair. I just don’t know of another way to get over 200 people the info!
- Just so you know…..my schedule is very tight and I am not able to take individual appointments before the fair. Please attend the info sessions I have scheduled next Monday at 3:00, 3:30, 4:00 and on Tuesday at 10:00, 10:30 all in Career Development. (I have had very low turn out for these so far.)
- Please see the attachments to this for info on the fair. THESE WILL REALLY HELP YOU!
- Please download the phone app for the fair – free – search for Minnesota Private Colleges Job and Internship Fair – tons of good info including a map with the location of all employers.
- I understand the van that the Diversity Center is offering to the fair has a waiting list. THERE IS NOT A BUS GOING FROM CAMPUS!
- On Wednesday the employer booth area opens at 9 a.m. With this in mind, plan to be parking your car by 8 a.m. Remember this is downtown Minneapolis on a work day in the winter with thousands descending on the Convention Center. I DO ENCOURAGE YOU TO CONSIDER STAYING IN THE TWIN CITIES THE NIGHT BEFORE.
- Do attend the fair expecting that you will get an interview. That means prepare to be interviewed.
- Do have a list of 5 – 10 employers who you have researched and plan to talk to – if you just wander around without a plan you are likely to be frustrated. You may also talk to others not on your list, but have some ready.
- This weekend is your chance to get ready for Wednesday! Get your clothes together – including shoes. Get your employer list together. Review the basics of interviewing. Get copies of your resume printed on resume paper.
- Ok…we are almost there! Just 5 days till Fair!
