Fair Goers:

  1. NOW is the time to:
    1. Get your resume approved on Handshake! LOTS of you do not have resumes approved!

Remember – we want ALL Gustie resumes to be REALLY good! If you need assistance with resumes – come to my walk in hours in January, go to the Career Development website or make an appointment in Career Development.

  1. Research the employers attending fair – you should be reviewing the list and finding employers of interest AND sending letters are resumes to get interviews scheduled at fair – you could walk in with interviews scheduled.
  2. On Handshake – go to the left sidebar and click on Planning – Click on the Fair Plan box – see the Pre Select Interview Section – there is a sample letter of what to say in the message to ask to schedule interviews at fair.
  3. Tomorrow is the last day to reserve hotel rooms at the Hilton at the fair rate of $109 for up to 2 people in the room. See the fair website for the phone number on that.
  4. Tip: find someone going to fair with similar interests – divide the employer list to find those that might interest you – REVIEWING THE EMPLOYER LISTS TAKES MORE TIME THAN YOU THINK IT WILL!

Fair Goers:

Only 4 days to get in on the Special Hotel rate for Fair. This is skyway connected to the fair – so it makes it easy. But, it is great to stay with family and friends the night before the fair too!

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Hilton Minneapolis & Towers. The rate is $109 for single/double. You must ask for the code MNJ for the Minnesota Private College Rate.

Reservations must be made by Monday, January 16, 2016 to get the rate.

The hotel is connected via skyway to the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Fair Goers:

Thank you for registering for Fair! We have 126 registered so far. If your friends are interested in going – they have until Jan. 29 to register.

Lots of you have resumes approved on Handshake – that is great! Now – you need to go to mnpcfair.org and upload your resume there!         That is the site the employers go to find resumes of those attending the fair. In the past Gustavus has had more resumes posted than any other school – today Macalester has as many as us! Only 29! So….get on this! It takes only a couple minutes – go to the fair site mnpcfair.org in left box click on Upload Resume.

Remember on Handshake in the left side bar there is Planning – click that and find info on preparing for fair.

New at the Fair:

Rather than Panel Presentations, there will be Roundtables (to make in more interactive for you) on science (two sessions); consulting (one session); international student success (one session).

The first Meet and Greet at the Fair – Room: M100 F, 3:15- 4:30 p.m. One last chance for candidates to network with nearly 300 organizations in a more relaxed environment!
