MNPC JAIF 2015 – Message 4 Posted on January 13th, 2015 by

Fair Goers:

  1. I am thrilled!  108 of you have registered so far AND 77 of you have resumes approved on GustieJobs! This great!
  2. I am thrilled that 30 of you have resumes posted on the fair website (mnpcfair.org)!  This is twice what any other school has posted – keep it going!
  3. Below is info on a session to learn about internships and Careers with the U. S. Dept. of State – I think I will be attending that morning session.  So if you want to go you will not be alone!
  4. Tell your friends that they have until this Friday to register at the $10 rate.
  5. You have until tomorrow to reserve a hotel room at the$105 rate (see messages in blog).
  6. I am very interested to know if any of you are sending out emails and resumes asking for pre-select interviews!  (Every year I say to do this but few people do it!)
  7. See the Blog for the back issues if you are just joining us.

Tom Hanson, a 25-year Foreign Service veteran and a Diplomat in Residence at the Alworth Institute at the University of Minnesota-Duluth will meet with students interested in an internships or careers with the US State Department on Saturday, January 31, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in Room 253 of the Centennial Student Union. (FREE Parking on Saturdays!).

From 2:00 – 4:00 he will make a presentation to the public on Things Fall Apart: the Year Ahead in Foreign Policy.

This may or may not be a convenient date, BUT a huge opportunity if you are interested in this! Having a person experienced with helping students get into State Dept. is a huge benefit.
