Winter Break is a wonderful time to focus on your career without lots of distractions. Here is our list of things you can do!
- Generate or update your résumé
- Email two or three of your professors or instructors and ask them if they will be a reference for you in the future
- Consider asking someone you have completed more than one class with
- Let them know you can provide a copy of your résumé
- Network, Network, Network!
- Check with your family and friends for potential internship or job leads
- Email professors or instructors for potential leads. They often know where their former students landed internships or jobs.
- Generate a cover letter or letter of interest to accompany your résumé if needed and send to potential employers
- Schedule an Informational Interview
- Make a list of Companies of Interest
- Make an appointment(s) with Career Development for when you return to campus
