Winter Break is a wonderful time to focus on your career without lots of distractions.  Here is our list of things you can do!

  • Generate or update your résumé
  • Email two or three of your professors or instructors and ask them if they will be a reference for you in the future
    • Consider asking someone you have completed more than one class with
    • Let them know you can provide a copy of your résumé
  • Network, Network, Network!
    • Check with your family and friends for potential internship or job leads
    • Email professors or instructors for potential leads.  They often know where their former students landed internships or jobs.
  • Generate a cover letter or letter of interest to accompany your résumé if needed and send to potential employers
  • Schedule an Informational Interview
  • Make a list of Companies of Interest
  • Make an appointment(s) with Career Development for when you return to campus
