Fair Goers:
- In the past students have said that the fair is not as difficult or scary as they expected it to be. And, they are positively surprised by the response from employers and the number of interviews they get. (I say this to give you reason to overcome your fears and show up at fair!)
- Gustavus Career staff will be at the fair throughout the day. If you need/want assistance during the day, come find us! We cannot anticipate every situation you may run into at the fair, so let us know if you encounter something that you need help with.
- Just so you know….we have 163 resumes posted on the fair website – second only to St. Thomas who have 223 posted….Remember employers will be able to continue to access those resumes after the fair.
- Employer booth area is open from 9:00 – 3:00. The interview area is open from 9:00 – 5:00. Thursday interviews run from 8:30 – 4:30. You schedule your own interview times, do not schedule an interview at a time that you are not able to attend.
- Bring what you need for the day – including money for lunch/snacks, tissues, comb, breath mints (no gum). There is a coat check but travel light! There will not be time to study at this event – so no backpacks.
- Thank you all for your work to prepare for fair! It is a unique event and opportunity. It is my hope that you have a successful fair experience for yourself. And, I am confident that you will continue to build the Gustavus brand of: Great Candidates!
- Employer booth area opens at 9 a.m. Weather looks good, but we cannot predict traffic. Figure how long it should take you to get to the Convention Center and add 20 minutes – just to reduce stress!
- At the Gustavus registration table we will give you your name tag (admission to event), day of fair notes from me (so you do not miss your daily update), a map of the booth area, and your Action Steps page (return this to the Gustavus table before you leave the fair).
- Again, I will be leaving Gustavus this afternoon and will not be reading my email until Friday. The email to career@gustavus.edu will be read by staff during the fair.
- Sleep well….relax….enjoy the fair!
