- Science candidates: There will be four recruiters from science organizations here in Nobel Hall at 1:30 PM this Friday in the Wallenberg Auditorium. The panel discussion on how to find science jobs is from 1:30-2:30, followed by some interaction time after that in the atrium. Business Casual Dress; Bring your resumes!
- 4:00 – Target Info Session in Diversity Center
- 4:30 – Epic Info Session in Linner Lounge
- Fair Prep Party:
- 5:45 – 6:00 – Alums and students arrive at Alumni Hall
- Check in; Name tags will be on round tables. You can talk with alums before the event if you get there early.
- 6:00 – Welcome and Introduction of alums
- 6:15 – Speaker: Karl Anderson from SPS Commerce will share words of wisdom!
- 6:30 – Speed Networking
- Alums will form 2 circles facing out; Candidates will be invited by table to the circles – to give everyone a chance. You will have 2 minutes to make your introduction and get feedback – this is quick! When the bell rings – move on to the next person. You will do this 2 or 3 times.
- 7:00 – Mock Interviews
- Alums will know that you do NOT know the organization you are interviewing with!
- When you get to the Prep Party look at the posted interview schedules.
- There will be 3 rounds of mock interviews.
- Mock interviews are 20 minutes long: 15 minute interview with 5 minutes for feedback.
- At the Fair: Plan to introduce yourself to employers. It is ok to say: “I don’t know all the positions in your organization. From looking at your website and fair information I am interested in x,y, z positions, but in other positions which may be appropriate for my background.” Or….” I don’t know all your positions. The skills and experiences I can bring to you are….list them.”
- At Fair: Plan to ask employers to schedule an interview at the fair. If they say they are not doing that, ask how to become a candidate for their opportunities.
- Today – 2:00 – 3:30 Quick Questions! Molly Dueber will be available to answer questions about job fair, introducing yourself, resumes, interviewing, job search, internship search….life …..everything!
- See many of you later today…if you did not sign up for the info sessions or prep party but can come – come ahead! We will not kick you out!
