Welcome to those who have newly registered.
- There are now 147 registered for fair.
- This Friday, Feb. 1 is the registration deadline….if you have friends who want to go….tell them to register soon.
- Remember – these updates are stored on our blog at: https://careerdevelopment.blog.gustavus.edu/search/label/MNPC%20Job%20and%20Internship%20Fair. Please go there to get previous messages and catch up on what you need to do to prep for fair.
- Pre-select Letters: There is a sample in the fair booklet. Send the letter requesting a pre-select at the fair and your resume to the email listed for each employer on the fair webpage (www.mnpcfair.org).
- You may also want to go the employer webpages and do on-line applications – so when they say “go online and apply” you can say – “I’ve done that…what’s next?”
- If employers say they are NOT interviewing at the fair – you can send your resume with a letter saying you are interested and will stop at their booth. If they change their minds about interviewing (like they get so many resumes from great Gusties that they HAVE to interview) please call you to arrange a time.
- Also, send the letter and resume as attachments to the email. The email says – Please see attachments regarding MN Private Colleges Job and Internship Fair. Should you have difficulty opening the attachments, please let me know.
- Sending requests for pre-selects is a big deal. Some employers will only contact candidates who contact them….they will only schedule if there is mutual interest.
- There have been issues with uploading resumes to the fair website at www.mnpcfair.org. Those seem to have been resolved. So if you got error messages please try again.
- We are still ahead of St. Thomas by 4 on resumes! But that means we have 74 resumes uploaded…and there are 147 of you!
- If you uploaded your resume to GustieJobs and have not gotten confirmation that it was approved….please check your documents. If it says there was an “error” in the upload, you can try uploading your resume as a pdf. There have been issues with the system but the pdfs seem to work.
- Thank you to those sending questions. My answers are short….I also try to answer in these messages. I am not able to respond fully to all of you individually. And, I remind you that I am not taking individual appointments yet. My plan is to have some walk – in times the week you get back to campus.
