Still not sure whether all that time sitting in a classroom is worth your trouble? Think again. New data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that those with a bachelor’s degree or higher are more likely to find employment versus those with just an associate’s or high school education. The unemployment numbers look like this: bachelor’s degree or higher at 3.8% unemployment, associate’s degree or some college education at 6.9% unemployment, and those with only a high school diploma at 8.4% unemployment.
While the percentage of employment for recent grads is still less than what it was pre-recession, it continues to climb steadily since bottoming out at 60% in 2009.
