Did you know that 86% of employers use http://www.linkedin.com to find candidates for their open positions? It is a great tool for job searching!
LinkedIn.com is like a Facebook – for your professional life. Creating a profile is free. Once you do that – be sure to go to “Groups” and search for Gustavus Alumni – request to be a member of that group. There are over 3,000 alumni in that Group. Great place to connect with alumni in organizations that may be of interest to you.
Also, go to the “More” tab and click on the Learning Center – tons of great info! Including how new grads can use the site and how to use it for job searching. On the menu bar there is “Jobs” – employers do post job openings here.
There is LOTS to use and learn about LinkedIn.com. The main thing now is to put your profile there and get started! If you need/want assistance with this – please come to the Center for Servant Leadership.
