Internship = Future Job? Posted on August 10th, 2010 by

The Career Center is starting our internship push early this year (yep, you still have nearly a month before school starts). There’s a good reason though: you may not realize that an internship – done over Fall, Interim, Spring, OR Summer – is becoming the main format companies are using to recruit new hires. An ever-growing number of companies are hiring directly from their internship pool, rather than going through the process of finding outside candidates. Interns already have the knowledge and experience to jump right into their professional, full-time position and be of value to the company. Check out this amazing statistic if you don’t want to take my word for it.

Best of all, internships are not scary to find and land! The Career Center has an Internship Coordinator (Corrie Odland) here to help you through the whole process. So start thinking about how you are going to gain your experience this school year…https://careerdevelopment.blog.gustavus.edu/files/2010/08/2314845784_376253b619-300x225.jpg
