I hope that started to clarify the gray area that is “business casual.” You want to dress professionally and look relaxed – yet also neat and pulled together. It’s a tightrope walk really.
A few of you were surprised that the looks weren’t more relaxed. It’s certainly possible that in your own internship or work environment it could be a little less polished, a little looser. It really depends on what your rules are and how your coworkers are dressing.
That being said, don’t be the slouchiest dresser in the office, particularly when you are also the youngest! Take one more casual item and build a work look around it. When you look in the mirror make sure that you would trust yourself with the next big project – and the next big bonus!
