Welcome Back for Spring Semester! Posted on February 9th, 2010 by

Even though “Spring semester” seems like a bit of a joke given that we are in a 48 hour snow emergency…

Hope you had a fabulous Interim and Touring Week!  We were working on all kinds of projects to help you, with many being unveiled in the coming months so stay tuned…

You guys were really busy too – In fact, tonight the Career Center and CVR are celebrating thirteen award-winning students who spent their Interim interning for some amazing (and amazingly diverse) organizations.  These students received the Nancy Pautz Leadership Award to help them cover some of their financial expenses over Interim (gas, lunches, work clothes, etc) and to honor their commitment to a true, meaningful exploration of their chosen field.  Take a look at what these students did:

  • Joelle Paulson (Sr) Women Against Military Madness
  • Jamie Dufek (Sr) Midway Contemporary Art in NE Mpls
  • Haylie Neitzell (Jr) CADA House
  • Aliana Ramsburg (Soph) Miracle Professional Baseball in Florida
  • Emma Strand (Sr) KEYC-TV
  • Morgen Hagedorn (Sr) Counseling Services in St. Peter Schools
  • Haven Davis (Sr) The Raptor Center
  • Daisy Lee (Jr) AIDS Research at the University of Colorado, Denver
  • JoVanna Jensen (Jr) Lifeworks
  • Kayla Nelson (Sr) St. John’s Lutheran Church
  • Elliott Herdina (Soph) 4th grade classroom in Blooming Prairie
  • Pang Her (Sr) Immanuel Saint Josephs
  • Karin Lund (Jr) Idaho Legal Aid Services

More to come from these interns – and from the other 100+ students who interned full-time in January and received academic credit for their experience!!

(Feeling inspired?  It’s not too late to get yourself a spring internship – the deadline is Feb. 12th so come on in quick and let’s find you a great resume-building, confidence-gaining experience!)
