The Nonprofit Career Guide: How to Land a Job that Makes a Difference
by Shelly Cryer

This book is one of my personal favorites in our library.  Rather than give just blunt, straight-forward information, it manages to provide important stats and details but in a very personal way.  It profiles real employees in different job positions and different organizations – each employee gives their age, education, years at current organization, years in current position, first job out of college, and first job in a nonprofit sector, a description of the program they work for, and a Q&A section asking about their job and life.  The book also does a fantastic job looking at all aspects of the non-profit sector – from non-profits focusing on a religious message to those working for women, affordable housing, or other causes.

Back Cover Breakdown:
“Nonprofit organizations need talented, creative people with all types of skills and experiences.  The Nonprofit Career Guide explores rewarding career opportunities in the nonprofit sector and will help you find a job that truly makes a difference.”
