Ahh, November Posted on November 10th, 2009 by

November happens to be one of my favorite months of the year.  The deep slate-colored sky against the last orange and red leaves is stunning and introspective.  Home always seems extra cozy and filled with the smell of apple cider, chili, or pumpkin bread.  The chill in the air justifies woolly, warm sweaters, scarves, mittens, and brand new boots.  Not to mention TV sweeps, the most delicious holiday ever, and my birthday!  All coming together for one glorious month!

However, I know my love for November is shared with very few people.  For most, it’s the time of year that it’s dark, rainy, cold, and slightly depressing.  Grumpiness abounds.  Professors expect a lot of you – projects, papers, and reading assignments pile up.  Exercising outside becomes totally unappealing.  And you still have a long ways before holiday cheer and winter break start to show their faces.

If that sums up your attitude, roll with it.  Hunker down, get organized, and embrace being confined inside most of the day.  The Career Center can help turn your restlessness into a great career exploration come Interim, or a strong start on your future planning.  Come visit with us and just maybe we’ll come to mind when you count your blessings on Thanksgiving!
