Wear Scrubs All Interim! Posted on October 5th, 2009 by

Internships in the health field are hard to come by…  Thankfully, Gustavus has been able to form a close relationship with Immanuel St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center that allows Gusties to walk through previously closed doors!
Over January, ISJ will host eight interns (who will receive academic credit for a  career exploration) and show them the ropes in a variety of areas.  Interns will partner with another Gustie to spend two eight hour days observing professionals in each of the following fields/specialties:

– Biomedical Equipment
– Community Health/Hospice
– Labratory Science
– Nursing
– Physical Therapy/ Occupational Therapy
– Physicians
– Radiology
– Sleep Center

To get such a cool career exploration, there are a few requirements of course:
– You must have a cumulative gpa of 3.2 or above
– You must be a sophomore, junior, or senior (sophomores are particularly encouraged to apply)
– You must be in good standing with the college (no probation of any type)
– You must complete the application and 1 pg statement of intent by Tuesday, October 20, 2009.

Pick up an application in the Career Center, fill it out, and be on your way to a fabulous future in the health field!  (Heather Banks can answer any questions you have about ISJ, health professions, etc)
