When I was a student at Gustavus many moons ago, I had a vague idea of what career I wanted – and I had absolutely no idea how to narrow down my interests and eventually snag a great, interesting job. So when I came across the Pathways booklet in the Career Center last month, I wished I could go back in time and hand it to the college me – How much time I could have saved and how much better prepared I would have been for life after graduation!
Pathways is the result of a Career Center, Advising Center, and Center for Vocational Reflection collaboration – all in an effort to help YOU get the most out of your time at Gustavus and to best prepare you for leaving the hill and pursuing your dreams. In the language of Gustavus’ core values, the booklet walks you through steps you should take in each of your four years here. And, even better, it comes with a checklist. (Marking off each box is so satisfying!)
Bottom-line: Pathways is the only go-to source that will let you know all of the resources available to you as you figure out your “life journey” and let you tailor them to your own needs. Stop into the Career Center and pick one up anytime – The college me promises you won’t regret it.
